A bass player, record producer and composer, currently based in London.  With his distinctive deep toned bass, an inventive sound design and lyrical approach to composing/song writing Liran is carving a unique and original soundscape in his performances, compositions and album productions.

After touring and releasing his debut album 8 songs to rave reviews, including “Best 10 Jazz Albums of 2018” by The Guardian and Jazzwise Magazine, Liran has also been collaborating alongside artists across the musical spectrum such as Mercury Prize Award nominees Led Bib and Polar Bear, Ill Considered, The Unthanks, Mulatu Astatke, Chrissie Hynde and US indie band Here We Go Magic to name but few. He has also worked with the late great Tabla maestro Pandit Shardah Sahai and the vocalist Aruna Sairam amongst many others. Liran’s distinctive bass playing can also be heard on scores for film, radio and television.

As a music producer Liran has worked with an array of critically-acclaimed artists including his recent work with Namvula, Led Bib, World Service Project, Ranjana Ghatak, Noga Ritter, Raph Clarkson and James Young. As a composer his notable compositions in the contemporary dance world has been marked with great reviews including his recent work with choreographer Sivan Rubinsteins’ MAPS as well as writing music for TV and BBC Radio drama.

Donin is currently working on his second studio album release, featuring his band 1000 Boats as well as his new upcoming duo project in collaboration with saxophonist Idris Rahman. Also in the making for 2022: a new album release and touring with ILL Considered, 2 new album releases by Namvula as well as new commission by The Place Contemporary Dance Theater, collaborating with Sivan Rubinstein on a new piece titled Dance Number 2.

1000 Boats: Liran brings the double bass to the forefront and directs the music with his distinctive powerhouse groove and virtuosic bass playing. With plenty of melodic and contemporary indie folk music to be found, it carries strong influences of Donins' Israeli and Moroccan Sub-Saharan background
